Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 following the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the season, the music was played all over Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed with Cozz in The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video was also released on September 5th. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole in The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The song, launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times within the first seven days. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
